commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the Vågen harbor in
Bergen, Norway. Around 1350, bryggen became the centre of the Hanseatic
commercial activities in Norway. Today, museums, shops, and restaurants
occupy the buildings.

Hopperstad Stave Church, Vik Municipality, Norway. Dating from around 1130, this
stave church is one of the oldest in Norway. About 700 years after its
construction, it was abandoned and fell into disrepair. A preservation
society bought the building in 1880 and reconstructed it, finishing in 1891.
The municipality sits along the spectacular Sogne Fjord.
